sorry for the delayed response to such a wonderful question. the "good news" represented by the cross is paramount due to the fact that it separates true faith in Jesus Christ from all other faiths in the world. no other faith or belief system recognizes and confirms the harsh and uncomfortably true reality of our inability to save ourselves. no good work, discipline, or traditional religious commitment can grant us peace and reconciliation with the Lord outside of a perfect sacrifice for our offence to Holiness. the good news is that the cross is empty and Jesus Lives! our faith in Him is our hope...not ourselves, not ridiculous politics or politicians, not mega churches or fat pastors driving $50,000 cars, but God who humbled himself and became a poor man, brutally killed by the people He loved and came to save. hope this answers the question without a bunch of religious mumbo jumbo junk. peace
the good news?
